New York Hostel Near Major NYC Attractions

 

Our New York hostel is centrally located in Manhattan to all major attractions and favorite destinations.  We are a few within blocks of major subway lines (1,2,3,A,C,E,F) allowing our guests to affordably and conveniently explore all the city has to offer.  While we love all that Manhattan, Brooklyn, and the other boroughs have to offer, our Chelsea neighborhood has plenty of attractions like the High Line Park all within walking distance.  Check out our list of top NYC attractions below and start planning your trip today.

 

Attractions to book in advance:

Statue of Liberty – if you would like to climb the statue, we strongly recommend making reservations as spots fill up far in advance:  http://www.statueoflibertytickets.com

Local tip:  If you do not want to book in advance or climb the statue, you can take the free Staten Island ferry that passes Lady Liberty and gives you a great view of the city skyline

 

9/11 Memorial and Museum –Tickets do not need to be booked far in advance, but it is better to purchase them beforehand in order to jump the line: http://www.911memorial.org/visit

 

Broadway:  If there is a particular show you would like to see, we recommend booking tickets in advance as many dates sell out.  Otherwise there is a half-price ticket line in Times Square for shows the day of.

 

See and Explore:

  • Empire State Building: 34th St and 5th Ave. 20 min walk.

  • One World Observatory: 15 min by subway. Take the E train downtown to the last stop (World Trade Center).

  • Times Square: 42nd St and 7th Ave. 20 min walk or 10 min by subway. Take the 1 train uptown to 42nd St.

  • 911 Memorial / Museum: 15 min by subway. Take the E train downtown to the last stop (World Trade Center).

  • Statue of Liberty: 20 min by subway. Take the 1 train downtown to the last stop (South Ferry). Then take the ferry to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island.

  • Brooklyn Bridge / South Street Seaport: 20 min by subway: Take the C train downtown to Broadway-Nassau.

  • Broadway Tickets - TKTS: Times Square (at 47th St). 20 min walk or 10 min by subway. Take the 1 train uptown to 42nd St.

  • Madame Tussauds Wax Museum: 42nd St between 8th and 9th Ave. 20 min walk or 10 min by subway. Take the 1 train uptown to 42nd St.

  • Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum: 46th St and 12th Ave. 25 min walk or 10 min by subway. Take the E or C trains uptown to 42nd St.

  • MOMA – Museum of Modern Art: 53rd St and 7th Ave. 15 min by subway. Take the E tain uptown to 5th Ave.

  • Metropolitan Museum of Art: 82nd St and 5th Ave. 25 min by subway. Take the L train to Union Square. Transfer to the 6 train uptown to 86th St.

  • Guggenheim Museum: 88th St and 5th Ave. 25 min by subway. Take the L train to Union Square. Transfer to the 6 train uptown to 86th St.

  • American Museum of Natural History: 81st St and Central Park West. 20 min by subway. Take the C train uptown to 81st St.

  • Central Park: 25 min walk or 15 min by subway. Take the C train uptown to Columbus Circle, 59th St.

  • Top of The Rock Observation Deck: 50th St and 5th Ave. 15 min by subway. Take the E tain uptown to 5th Ave.
