What documents does one need to stay at your Hostel?

You must have a passport to check-in. No other identification card will be accepted (*applicable to United States Citizens as well*). We require passports in order to ensure all guests are accounted for in any possible situation. Passport numbers offer the only comprehensive method to confirm and secure the identities of all of our guests. This is standard world-wide Hostel policy and as such we cannot allow any exceptions.

When is check-in/check-out?

The Check-Out process ends at 12:00 (noon); after the rooms have been cleaned and prepared for new guests you can move into the room. Generally, the earliest time you can move in is 15:00; however, if you arrive before this, you can leave your luggage in our storage lockers and come back when your room is ready.

What are the prices and sizes of lockers?

After you check out, you can leave your luggage using our rental lockers. The prices for the lockers are $3-$5 (depending on size) for 24 hours. However, MULTIPLE ENTRIES ARE NOT ALLOWED. Once you open a locker you will need to pay again if you want to use it one more time.

Where can I keep my belongings?

Typically luggage carrying non-valuable items such as clothes and toiletries are usually left in the dormitory either under the bed or tucked out of the way. There are lockers in all of the dormitory rooms. You will need to bring your own pad lock to use these lockers (medium-size, 7mm thick). Valuables may be stored in these areas. The Hostel is not responsible for lost or stolen items.

Can I change or cancel my reservation?

Insofar as we have 24 hours advanced notice we can typically cancel or change a reservation; however, if you do not notify us of a cancellation we are authorized to charge your credit card for your first night's accomodation price.

Is there a curfew?

We have no curfew and you may exit and enter the building at any time. We have a staff member in the hostel at all times. During off-peak hours we may ask you to show your key in order to let you in for security reasons. Common spaces typically close from 11 pm to 7 am.

Is there an age restriction to stay at the hostel?

You must be at least 18 to stay in our Hostel.

Is there someone at the front desk 24 hours?

Yes, we have someone at the front desk 24 hours a day. They are there to assist you so feel free to ask them questions or give you a hand. They are also there to let you in when you come home from a late night out in the city.

Is breakfast included?

We offer free continental breakfast. It is served every morning from 8am-10am, while supplies last, on a first-come first-served basis. Join us in our kitchen area for a variety of Bagels, Fruits, Coffee, Milk, Tea, and Cereal.

Does the Hostel have kitchen facilities?

Yes, our Hostel has 2 fully equipped kitchen facilities with refrigerators, ovens, microwaves, toasters, cups, plates, utensils, etc.

How well kept is the Hostel?

We pride ourselves in having a very clean hostel. With the numbers of people coming through it it pretty much has to be. Cleaning is a constant process at most hostels. There is a maid service that cleans the rooms, bathrooms, and common areas every day. Moreover, we have a very thorough maintenance staff to ensure the highest quality safety at all of our facilities.

Is there Wi-Fi (wireless internet access)?

Yes. We have FREE Wi-Fi available in certain areas of the hostel but it is not available in all parts of the hostel. You can access this at any time by clicking on the hostel connection and connecting. You do not need a password to connect.

Do I have to pay to use the Hostel's computers?

If you would like to use one of the computers provided, there is an initial charge of $2.00 for 20 minutes, and a $1.00 charge for every subsequent minute. You may pay by cash or credit card.

Do you have a Facebook page?

Yes, we have a Facebook page, a Twitter account, and a Blog. Search NYC Hostel Connection. Become a fan of our Facebook page and add pictures, get details on events and chat with other hostellers.

Are there any events at the Hostel?

Yes! We have events every week. Check out our Calender, Facebook and Twitter pages. Some of the events include a free pizza night, a pub crawl with free transportation, sports events and a free comedy night. When you are staying with NYC Hostel Connection there is always something to do.
